I am interested in creating a visual experience of the passage of time and the sense of impermanence...things moving, transforming, disassembling. I attribute my artistic perspective to my childhood relocations and immersions into different cultures. Born in Israel, I later immigrated to France and the United States.  My parents, grandparents and great-grandparents immigrated several times in their lifetimes as well. I believe these generational displacements and cultural shifts resulted in a genetic memory of the impermanence of time and place. 

Austin-based artist Revi Meicler is a mixed media artist who has gained attention for her expressive imagery, drawing from both her intimate, often subconscious, personal narrative and grander considerations of transformation. Utilizing a multitude of media, Meicler imbues her canvases with a wealth of imagery. Her chaotic compositions seem to be scattered collages, but upon closer inspection, organic forms dance in and out of focus hinting at a world that is unsettled.

Meicler’s body of work is ultimately celebratory with symbols of life and nature.  Her universe is doused in opulent color and infused with bright energy. The obscure is juxtaposed with an enlightened and primal positivism. It’s the playful dance of Meicler’s narratives that keeps us submerged in her visual landscape.

Meicler studied at the University of Houston, Houston, Texas.  Her work has been exhibited in the United States and Europe and is in numerous public and private collections.
